Amazon Expeditions

The headwaters of the worlds mightiest river the Amazon, that start to flow east from the melting snow of the High Andes of Ecuador form the home to some of the most bio-diverse ecosystems of the world. Rich in endemic flora and fauna, this area has given the world many of it's modern medicines, and forms the home to many of the indigenous nations of South America. At least one clan of the Huaorani Nation remains uncontacted by our western culture, and the Shuars, the headhunters of the upper Amazon, still live deep in the rainforest.

The Quichua nation, live and farm along the mighty rivers much as they have for many years, and the extensive Ecuadorian National Parks help to preserve this important area, much as it has always been and provide some balance to the oil industry and the economic needs of an emerging nation.

Traveling with Safari, by foot and dugout canoe we explore some of the secret areas of this amazing jungle.
