Hiking on Corazon
Climbing this extinct volcano can be a really long day to reach
the summit at 4700 meters (15,710 feet). We start hiking starting
at 2800 meters in the inter-Andean valley, or if we have limited
time it is possible to drive higher in our 4x4 jeeps. The hike begins
in farmlands hiking through fields and pastures. Climb higher on
the mountain you pass onto the paramo. The final ascent is a scramble
up a large rock band to the summit. It is worth having hard hats,
but you do not need a rope.
Guagua is particularly prone to clouding in and sudden storms.
