Safari began in 1993 as a simple idea---A world of
wonders opens up when you journey "off the beaten track"
and it's a great way to meet people. In the early days we had one
Land Rover and hung up cards in the Quito restaurants looking for
people with similar interests. The idea caught on and Safari has
grown and developed. Today we are an English and Ecuadorian owned
company with a fleet of Land Rovers and Toyotas. You can still see
Safari's name in the local restaurants, almost any guide book of
Ecuador, in magazine and newspaper articles, and our website. Over
the years we have gained an excellent reputation for quality service,
customer safety, and environmental preservation. While Safari has
grown our original idea continues. We are still traveling around,
having fun, and making new friends.
Join us and discover Ecuador, the most diverse country
in the world. From the snows covered peaks of the high Andes to
the steamy jungles of the headwaters of the Amazon, from the tropical
forest fringed beaches of the Pacific coast to the world famous
Galapagos Islands with Safari all this is yours. Whatever your interests
our multi-lingual staff will work with you to design your ideal
adventure.
The founder
Once a corporate executive in England, David left his fast pace
life to sail around the world. The journey took across the Atlantic,
through the Caribbean and finally to Florida. There his plans took
a dramatic change, when a chance meeting led to the unusual job
of managing and maintaining boats in the Galapagos Islands.
But since that fateful meeting in Florida, David spent 6 years living
in the Galapagos before moving to the mainland and starting Safari.
Today David is sailing around the Caribbean and living in the United
States.
