Ecuador's only coastal park protects most of the country's remaining trpical scrub desert and forestalong with a dramatic strech of coast line and the island of Salango and La Plata . If you cant make it to Galapagos, Machlilla's Isla de la Plata is the next best thing-nor to be missed for its the fauna above and below the water.
the park is home to at lest 230 species of birds, including many Galapagos species, such as frigatebirds, boobies and waved albatross. The mammal list include dear, anteaters, amadillos, ocelots, and two species of monkeys.
